Well, it has been a hectic week. I got with my broker and signed a stack of papers, then over the weekend I was on and off the phone with him for negotiations three or four times before he said, “You own a house now.”

Yesterday, I met him at the house and we signed another stack of papers, confirming the agreement. Basically four copies for everything, one for the buyer, one for the seller and one for each of the agents involved, all in blue ink to show that it isn’t a photoocopy. I also handed over my ernest money check, so the home is mine in all but name now. Between the amount he came down on the price, plus paying closing costs and repairs, the seller came down $10k. That makes my home an official “steal.”

The next step is to make an appointment with a home inspector, get his report and haggle what items on his punch list will be repaired by either me or the seller.

The closing is at the end of July, which will allow me to give 30 days notice to my present landlord, and then quickly move out of the apartment and the storage facility where stuff from my Bartlett house has been sitting for nigh on 10 years now.

No, I am not going to put a picture of the house up on the blog. I don’t want those pacifist Liberals throwing things like eggs or Molotov Cocktails at it.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I need your help. I do not have the time to scour every news source to find this evidence.

Here’s what I need. I need links to news articles where legally armed citizens have gone into a bar, gotten drunk and started shooting up the bar and the people inside.

The reason why I am asking for this is because a bunch of left-wing hoplophobes are screaming about how they will not patronize an establishment that allows legally armed citizens to also patronize that establishment, simply because of such a fear.

In response, I can name several other “gun free” zones where unlawfully armed people bent on evil killed defenseless people, who because of local, state or national laws the lawfully armed citizen was not allowed.

Luby’s in Killeen. McDonalds in San Ysidro. Columbine. Virginia Tech. Shall I go on?

People like Left Wing Cracker and Wendi C. Thomas are, in their normal rabid knee-jerk reaction, are upset that non-drinking armed citizens are allowed into establishments that serve alcohol. They think that those who legally carry firearms are two seconds away from blasting away at somebody.

So, Wendi has started the “Eat Gun Free in TN” blog, where she will loudly proclaim establishments that prohibit legal firearms from being brought inside. Of course, signs like this do not prohibit the unlawful carrying of firearms. It makes them magnets for those who like to do evil.

I will admit that there has been one, one instance that I can recall here in Memphis where a legally armed citizen made some bad choices and another man paid for it with his life. Now, that’s been since 1997 when concelaed carry was changed to a “shall issue” here in Tennessee.  I myself had a CCW license, issued that same year, and I had it until I developed my mental illness.  So, one instance in 12 years, while tragic because of the loss of life, is very small against the documented lawful uses of legally armed citizens saving the lives of themselves, their family and countless others.

Now if these people will patronize only gun-free establishments, and will avoid at all costs ones that do allow armed citizens, then the logical extention is that their own homes are gun-free zones. Why don’t they mount a similar sign in front of their homes?

I mean, carry your convictions all the way, you know what I mean?

Well, I started the process for buying a home last week. I contacted a broker who gave me a stack of about 60 sheets for houses in the area I want to live in. I made two passes through the sheets, selecting for what I was looking for in a house. After the dust cleared, I had 8 possibles.

I then took those sheets home, and let my wife see them. We worked together and narrowed it down to five. I visited these five, and narrowed it down to three. At this point, I called the broker (Father of a good friend) and arranged for visitations. I brought my son along, and with the broker we went through the houses.

The first house I went to, because I had a feeling about it, turned out to be the one I wanted. Not only did it have a lot of space, including office space, but it had a spacious garage/barn out back. The garage actually has a second floor that I could put a gaming table in and game at home. It was also a price that I could handle. We still went on, just in case I found a better place in one of the other two.

One house had brown carpet and cigarette burns on the bathroom sink. I don’t think so.

One house had a dead squirrel in the fireplace. It was way overpriced for its condition. I didn’t even look at the workshop, I could see rot all the way around it from the house.

So, my broker is sending me detailed information on the house and neighborhood, so I can make sure this is the house for us.

I’ll let you know how the process is going from time to time. Right now, it’s looking pretty good.

In Russian, Pravda means truth. Usually they are a rag broadcasting Socialist Propaganda on the order of the National Enquirer, but in this case they hit it right on the head. He goes on to talk about everything that Obama has done, from having the self-appointed power to fire the CEO of a private company, to printing enough unsupported money to send us into a Wiemar Republic tailspin.

So, should it be any surprise to discover that the Democratically controlled Congress of America is working on passing a new regulation that would give the American Treasury department the power to set “fair” maximum salaries, evaluate performance and control how private companies give out pay raises and bonuses? Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort. He stresses that this only affects companies that receive government monies, but it is retroactive and taken to a logical extreme, this would include any company or industry that has ever received a tax break or incentive.

I can’t find any holes in his logic, nor his statements, especially this one:

You elected these bastards, knowing full well that they were Marxists and Socialists. They told you who they were, but because they said they would “help” you, you voted them in. Well, they are helping us into a Socialist state, and the rest of the world is laughing at us, espeically our President, who is driving us there at full speed.

This is one American who will not go quietly. We can stop this from happening, hopefully next year. Find true Conservatives, who believe in small governement, low taxes and freedom. Elect them. Replace them with other Conservatives so these Conservatives won’t be corrupted by the system that is American Politics. LISTEN to what these people say. CHECK out the facts around what they are saying. GRILL them (not literally ) to find out what they really stand for.

This can be stopped, but it will take every one of us working together. Remember, the Government that is big enough to give you everything you need is also big enough to take it all away.
