Stupid Hoplophobes

Hoplophobia, from the Greek hoplon, or weapon, is defined as the “fear of firearms” or alternatively, an irrational fear of weapons in general, and describes a specific phobia.
Just to prove another idea that sounds good, instead of a good, sound idea, comes this gem: Ammunition accountability.
It will basically etch a serial number on the base of a bullet so it can be identified and supposedly traced back to the purchaser. It will serialize a box of ammunition with the same serial number.
But I have some questions:
1 With the millions of rounds being produced every day, how are you going to find 50 rounds with the same number and put them together? I mean, todays ammunition manufacturing machines turns out hundreds of rounds every second. Are you going to hand match those bullets together? It soulds like a design feature instead of a flaw, simply because you will have to have people hand load the bullets into the boxes to make sure that the batch number is the same.
2. What if the ammunition was stolen? What good does the numbers do then? And you’re just going to rake a crime victim over the coals again, putting them down as a suspect because you traced the ammunition back to him. What if the police had the ammuntion stolen from them? What are you going to do then?
3. Are you going to serialize shotgun pellets? Because that’s what criminals will progress to if they can’t get their hands on regular ammunition.
I could go on and on, but I think you get my point.
All this does is put an onerous burden on the normal citizen, which is what these hoplophobes want to do. They can’t outlaw firearms because of the recent SCOTUS decision making firearms ownership an individual right, so they’ll go after the ammunition. They’ll put tax after tax on ammuntion until it costs $5 a round, or more.
I find it somewhat discongruent that these bleeding heart liberals will support the criminal, giving them every excuse in the world for their behavior, and in the same breath condemn the tool that they use. Even if we were to totally get rid of guns, violent people will still kill with knives, baseball bats, and any of a hundred improvised weapons. Do you hear the hoplophobes wanting to ban knives and baseball bats? No, you don’t.
All of these laws will be struck down (at least, I hope) by SCOTUS, simply because they are nothing more than backdoor gun registration.
