I found this article about a lady with a loud child being asked to leave the restaurant because of the loud child.
I am extremely annoyed when a family comes to a sit-down restaurant with young children, then do nothing to control them when the children act out or are bothering the other customers. A responsible parent should do whatever is necessary, like getting up and go home until the child gets the message. A parent spanking the child in the restroom would get my approval.
Parents, please don’t take young children to nice restaurants. If you must take children, make sure they are older and know about behaving. You do not have the right to bring loud and boisterous children to a place where other people are trying to enjoy themselves. I can understand taking them to McDonald’s, because that place is geared toward children. They do NOT belong in nice restaurants where people pay a premium for a meal they have every right to enjoy. I am not saying you don’t have the right to enjoy a meal there either. Just your uncontrolled children. So control your children or go home and leave them there under suitable supervision.

Believe it or not, there is a difference between Veterans Day and Memorial Day. On Veterans Day, we have the ability to thank those who served our country in person. If you haven’t done it so far, thank a veteran. They’re the reason why you have the freedom to do what you do today.
“It is the soldier, not the reporter,
Who has given us freedom of the press.
“It is the soldier, not the poet,
Who has given us freedom of speech.
“It is the soldier, not the campus organizer,
Who has given us the freedom to demonstrate.
“It is the soldier, who salutes the flag,
Who serves beneath the flag,
And whose coffin is draped by the flag,
Who allows the protester to burn the flag.”

All gave some, some gave all. Some are still giving. POW-MIA.

BREAKDOWN OF INCOME AND TAXES PAID BY CATEGORY
| Income Category | 2005 AGI | Percent of all income | Percent of income taxes paid |
| Top 1% | Over $364,657 | 21% | 39% |
| Top 5% | Over $145,283 | 36% | 60% |
| Top 10% | Over $103,912 | 46% | 70% |
| Top 25% | Over $62,068 | 68% | 86% |
| Top 50% | Over $30,881 | 87% | 97% |
| Bottom 50% | Under $30,882 | 13% | 3% |
As you can see, the top category pays significantly more than “it’s fair share.” The top 50% of wage earners pay 97% of all taxes collected. While the entire bottom 50% only pays 3% of all taxes collected. This does not reflect population, merely households that earn a specific amount of money.

Found this on the Net, and I thought it is a good example of the Liberal mindset.
A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. Like so many others her age, she considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat, and among other liberal ideals, was very much in favor of higher taxes to support more government programs, in other words redistribution of wealth.
She was deeply ashamed that her father was a rather staunch Republican, a feeling she openly expressed. Based on the lectures that she had participated in, and the occasional chat with a professor, she felt that her father had for years harbored an evil, selfish desire to keep what he thought should be his.
One day she was challenging her father on his opposition to higher taxes on the rich and the need for more government programs. The self-professed objectivity proclaimed by her professors had to be the truth and she indicated so to her father. He responded by asking how she was doing in school.
Taken aback, she answered rather haughtily that she had a 4.0 GPA, and let him know that it was tough to maintain, insisting that she was taking a very difficult course load and was constantly studying, which left her no time to go out and party like other people she knew.
She didn’t even have time for a boyfriend, and didn’t really have many college friends because she spent all her time studying.
Her father listened and then asked, “How is your friend Audrey doing?”
She replied, “Audrey is barely getting by. All she takes are easy classes, she never studies, and she barely has a 2.0 GPA. She is so popular on campus; college for her is a blast. She’s always invited to all the parties, and lots of times she doesn’t even show up for classes because she’s too hung over.”
Her wise father asked his daughter, “Why don’t you go to the Dean’s office and ask him to deduct a 1.0 off your GPA and give it to your friend who only has a 2.0. That way you will both have a 3.0 GPA and certainly that would be a fair and equal distribution of GPA.”
The daughter, visibly shocked by her father’s suggestion, angrily fired back, “That’s a crazy idea, how would that be fair! I’ve worked really hard for my grades! I’ve invested a lot of time, and a lot of hard work! Audrey has done next to nothing toward her degree. She played while I worked my tail off!”
The father slowly smiled, winked and said gently, “Welcome to the Republican party.”
It’s amazing how clear things become when expressed a little differently.
