You don't get too many second chances
I found this video as it has disbursed itself through the Internet, and I thought I would show it here, as a lesson that you don't play with guns.
The bullet he fired was about as big as a mans pinkie, and moving at Mach 3. He is so lucky it wasn't another inch to the right.
Of course, you don't shoot iron targets with copper plated bullets, unless they are armor piercing. Even with lead bullets, I have been scratched by fragments coming back from iron targets. You just can't be too careful.
