Walking dead
I'm not at that stage today, but I sure was yesterday. Today is just a hacking dry cough and a general malaise. Maybe it's because I want to be warm under the covers instead of going out into 22 degree weather in less than an hour.
In the mean time, there's only one thing that I wanted to comment on.
The bipolar guy who managed a suicide by cop was a "but for the grace of God go I" kind of thing. I have had the SWAT team out to my house. Twice. All because I was not stable. Thankfully, I didn't get shot, although I will admit the thought crossed my unbalanced mind at the time. I must stand up for the Air Marshals in this case, they had a tough decision and they shouldn't be second-guessed about it.
I won't say that the dead guy got what he deserved (he didn't), but in this post-9/11 era you can't take the chance to psychoanalyze somebody while he's reaching into a bag. It was a clear decision to shoot in that moment, and they did it. My heart goes out to the widow, but I have to ask why the fuck wasn't he on his meds? I have learned the hard way not to skip even one day, how could she had let this happen? You don't let someone like that just roam around an airport or get on an aircraft.

I can't blame the guy, exactly. If he was off his meds, his thinking wasn't going to be clear. But his wife knew! Why didn't she say something? If she was afraid, why didn't she say something before they got on the plane, in the terminal?
This was a tragedy. I don't blame the marshals. You knew how this was going to end as soon as he went running around.
On the other hand, can't they see the difference between unbalanced behavior and a scramble by a terrorist to get to his bomb? I think a bit more training for marshals wouldn't hurt.
On the other hand, go to Say Uncle and read the post he has about the guy now on death row because he shot and killed a cop who burst (mistakenly)into his apartment via "no knock." The guy was law-abiding but in a rough neighborhood. When he saw a home invasion, he fired. It was purely the cops' fault, but he's now on death row.

Anyway, from what I have been able to gather is, he and his wife had been overseas doing missionary work for the last few months, and it is likely that he ran out of meds and could not obtain more wherever he was at. Even so, both you and I know that even with perfect compliance on meds, there is no guarantee of stability.
You and I both can see and understand exactly how this episode came to be and how it unfolded. It's an understanding I really wish I didn't have ...

I normally give all of my commenters 100 IQ points. That, after all, is average.
But I deduct 30 IQ points for SHOUTING, and another 30 points for posting off-topic. I also deduct 30 points for misspelling. Oh, I almost forgot. Minus 10 points for name calling. Congratulations. You're as smart as a rock.
But let's go to what you actually said. You equate us (Conservatives and Republicans) to Nazis, which just shows you don't know your history very well. Nazis were National Socialists, a Left-wing group, not Right.
Nazis came to power violently, and maintained their power violently. The German culture is also to unquestioningly obey higher authority, which is not the American way. I ask hard questions all the time, and I do not agree with everything this Administration does or says.
If the last "Half-dozen" wars were wrong, I count WWII as the 6th one. That was an unjust war? Against the very Nazis you claim to rail against in your post.
I'm sorry, I can't continue. I can't take you any more. Good luck, I'll let my other readers comment more upon you and your message.
