Crazy old Uncle Ted
Ted Turner strikes again. Ted Turner says Iraq 'no better off' after U.S.-led war.
Ted is continuing to spew his Liberal talking points as he always has, without regard for the truth. He basically calls for us to get rid of our nuclear arsenal, as if beating our swords into plowshares will bring peace. It will, in a way. It will being about the peace of the slave, as in those who don't have weapons to defend themselves will become the slaves of those who keep their weapons.
He then goes on to basically question the Presidents sanity:
"You have to question ... the president on a lot of decisions he's made," Turner said. "He might just think launching those weapons would be a good thing to do. ... He thought Iraq was."
Nuclear weapons are a defensive weapon, never an offensive weapon. At least in our hands. You never know about countries such as Iran, which has vowed to "Wipe Israel off the Map." That could certainly be construed as a pre-emptive nuclear strike. Not the words of a sane man.
He does get one thing right, almost:
Turner said war is an outdated form of diplomacy that has stopped working.
War is an extension of diplomacy, which is the stage you spank another country (or group of individuals) until they see things your way. You break things, including their spirit, until they agree with you.
Ted, don't go away angry, just go away.
