Howard Dean, the town idiot

Well, I got to watch a slow motion train wreck yesterday morning on Meet The Press. Howard Dean, former Presidential candidate and presently head of the Democrat National Committee, was ripped a new one by Tim Russert. Tim Russert Rips Howard Dean Apart.

In subject after subject, Tim Russert let Dean state or clarify a position, then hit him with a contradiction out of his own mouth and then sat back and watched the gears grind to a halt while Dean tried to mealy-mouth his way out of such lies and contradictions.

Dean is part of the radical left, and his calling the Republicans "Evil" doesn't help. He doesn't make any friends saying that Tom DeLay should start serving a prison sentience without being even accused of a crime, let alone convicted of one. Of course, Dean has already convicted DeLay, but that's only in his own mind. Thankfully there is no correlation between reality and Dean's mind.

This is what we face. People consumed by irrational hatred. People who claim to celebrate diversity, but reserve their tokens for the front office and subways. People who claim to respect the rights and opinions of others, but only when it agrees with them. If you have a different opinion, you are shouted down, spit on and trampled.

Now you know. And knowing is half the battle.

I just don't get it...how can you be so blind? I read the article you quote - and I saw something totally different - but then again, I have the ability to recognize the spin the "author" put on the article.

Why must an interview be competition? What good does that serve? Let's look at each of the points made in the article...

"I think Tom DeLay ought to go back to Houston, where he can serve his jail sentence down there courtesy of the Texas taxpayers," Dean said on May 14.

I agree - if convicted, tom delay ought to go back to Houston... When questioned, he did indicate that no, delay hadn't been convicted, but he believed that he would be and there would be jail time associated with it...furthermore, since he has seen the accusations and evidence regarding the delay ethical violations, I would say that he has NOT prejudged him - instead he looked at the facts and made an informed judgement.

Delay has been admonished by the ethics committee - and he probably will be again - AND I suspect that given the seriousness of the most recent allegations he will be charged and hopefully convicted.

Dean did not side step the issue, he went to the core of it - Dean should not be serving in Congress ... putting a picture up on the DNC website is sidestepping the real issue!

Abortion Claims - Again Dean goes right to the point - the issue isn't about abortion per se - it's about whether the government can make those kinds of decisions for their "FREE" constituents. It is possible to be against abortion - all kinds of abortions - and yet still believe that the government has no business being involved in making those decisions. Dean & the Democrat's issues with partial birth abortion legislation has to do with not allowing the government to get a foothold in the door of banning abortions. As he stated, there isn't an ethical doctor who would perform third term abortions unless there were extreme circumstances. In other words - why put a ban on something that isn't being done unless you are trying to weasel your way into banning abortions altogether? It's ridiculous and it's designed to stir up the deeply held emotions of the citizens so that a few people can gain control...it's tabloid government! It's manipulation of the populace by preying on their fears - do the republicans believe that the country is not capable of hearing the truth and forming their own opinions? Must everything be sensationalized? The public certainly isn't hearing the truth from this administration nor from many "news" networks. I think the R party is afraid of telling the whole truth!

Mocking Limbaugh and O'Reilly - Good Lord - those two deserve to be mocked! They are liars and jerks - and mostly hypocrits. Heck yeah, Dean can mock Limbaugh because he was an addict but professed to be some sort of morally upstanding person - he wasn't, he isn't - O'Reilly is a two-faced, misogynistic, controlling drug and sex addict! He can't stand the fact that he is wrong and when faced with that possibility, he shouts over, demeans or silences the person pointing out his inaccuracy. What's good for the goose, is good for the gander...moving on ...

Bernie Sanders being a socialist - it's obvious from what I read that Dean believes that the argument about whether Sanders is a socialist or democratic socialist is all about semantics - again going right to the point, Dean points out that he supports him because he would be good for the democratic party and therefore the country.

This division in our country has to stop - we have to, as a people, regain control of our own government! The bottom line is that Americans want the same things - the ability to work for a decent living, have children, take care of their loved ones, preserve the environment for future generations, etc. We may disagree on how to get there, but we all pretty much want to go to the same place - however, we've allowed the government and media to fool us into believing that there is no common ground among us - first we have to stop believing that and secondly we are going to have to find a solution ourselves, those folks in Washington don't seem to be able to do it!
