Moving forward with self-defense

Florida, who lead the country back in the 80′s with an expanded Concealed Weapons License program, has again put itself at the forefront of personal protection. Floridians’ Self-Defense Rights Expanded.
The law has codified what has been known as “castle law” which means a person is king or queen of their castle and should be able to protect themselves and their possessions from any intruder. This new law prevents criminals who are wounded or killed in the act of robbing a home from suing the homeowner.
The law also codifies the fact that you shouldn’t have to retreat from a situation if you are faced with a deadly force scenario on the street.
Of course the anti-gunners are trying to paint the streets red with blood with the “what if’s.” They did that when the CCW was first loosened, saying that, literally, “the streets will run red with blood.” Of course, it didn’t happen.
99 3/4% of the people who have CCW licenses know what kind of responsibility they have. And they carry that responsibility well and correctly. Those that don’t follow the law are accordingly dealt with.
I’d like to see this in all of the states. Let’s make it harder for criminals to exist. Let’s make it easier for a citizen to defend themselves and not have to worry about a financially killing lawsuit after successfully defending themselves from scum.

I could have told you this

In fact, without researching into my own archives, I can tell you I already have. Report: Affirmative Action Does More Harm Than Good.
Affirmative Action is a monstrosity of an unwanted program. It was originally designed to help get a equally-qualified minority into college or a job over a white person, the key here being the fact that the two are supposedly equally qualified.
But that hasn’t happened. The result of the law is the hiring, promotion and acceptance into college of unqualified minorities. Companies and colleges are now forced to deal with people who are unable to cut the mustard and end up being put into dead-end jobs (because they don’t have the qualifications to move higher) or drop out of school because they can’t handle the class load. They skated through high school because no one wanted to “hurt their feelings” by giving them a bad grade.
In the end, damage, real damage has been done to minorities because they are put into a position they don’t need to be in. You see a higher drop-out rate because they got in over their heads.

But preferences at these selective schools have not increased college access for minorities because most minorities leave high school without the minimum credentials necessary to attend any four-year school.
Political scientist Jay Green found that only 20 percent of African-American students and 16 percent of Hispanics leave high school with the minimum credentials.
“Minority underrepresentation in college is caused by public schools’ failure to prepare minority students,” writes Gryphon. “It is a failure that affirmative action does not remedy.”

It is the public schools fault for not preparing them for the college life. The high school is supposed to be all preparatory work for college, and again, their lack of any meaningful work prevents this from happening. Even many White students are unprepared for college because most school time is devoted toward raising awareness about various things rather than on English and Math like they should.
Pitiful.
