Euthanasia: The ultimate Liberalism

Here is your self-appointed Philosopher Kings at work: In Service to Inhumanity.
Here is one very slippery slope. First of all, you are euthanizing babies that are “deemed defective.” But who decides they are defective? WHO IN THE FUCK OTHER THAN GOD HIMSELF SHOULD MAKE THAT CHOICE? And like all other Liberal programs, where are the limits to it? Where does it stop? Of course we should put the retarded to sleep, but at what point are you retarded? How would you feel if you were one point below the cut-off? Should we put adults to sleep because they develop mental illnesses like schizophrenia? How about if you lose a limb or two? Don’t give me that look, because they started out with just the elderly, now they’re adding children. It is only a matter of time before they widen the scope to anything they want.
Did you get the idea that I am extremely incensed about this? This is one of your wonderful Liberal States where they have been putting the elderly to sleep like pets for years. If you’re in the hospital over 65, it’s likely you won’t walk out because the doctor will put you down at the first sign of trouble.
“Death with dignity” they say. Feh. I’d rather go fighting and scratching to the last step. I know where my soul is going, but that doesn’t mean I want to get there sooner than I have to. I’ve been suicidal enough, I don’t need someone else’s help.
This is disgusting and must never reach our shores.

Update

I wrote a while back about a lady who was stupid enough to go walking along some railroad tracks. The stupid idiot got hit by a train. Now she’s suing, and with the present climate in the courts today, she just might win.
Here’s another look at the situation: Warning: People Are Stupid: Legal chlorine for the gene pool.

The sad truth is that companies are regularly held responsible for not protecting people from their own stupidity. This must stop. And I think I’ve fumbled across the solution – the evolution defense. In a nutshell, the evolution defense would allow a defendant to avoid liability if it can show that we, as a species, are better off now that the plaintiff is no longer able to reproduce. This defense would not only be a boon for beleaguered manufacturers but for society as well. We simply can’t afford for the gene pool to get any shallower, at least, without putting a warning label on the side of it that reads: “Shallow: No diving in head first.”

This would appropriately be called the “Darwin Defense.”
