Read this: Do You Still Have Constitutional Rights? and be very afraid.
While we are in a time of national emergency, facing a foe that has never been faced on this scale before, there are things that law-enforcement can do without the oversight of the judiciary that go beyond criminal.
There are potentials for abuse that are astounding, and are routinely done every day. I am not proud that this is my government.
The system needs a massive overhaul, but the people need to change their paradigm as well in several different ways.
If you want to know how this could very well end, watch the Sci-Fi series Babylon 5. In the series one of the major story lines is about a corrupt vice-president who assassinates the President of EarthGov to take power. He then sets the stage to take total power and become a Totalitarian dictatorship. When civil war breaks out and he is finally defeated, his last act is to turn the planetary defenses on Earth to wipe it out. While he gathers power, he starts arresting people for sedition and as traitors. Watch the series, it’s out on DVD at Amazon.com. I’m saving up right now to get Season 4. You can help me out by donating a little to the right-> =)
While I do not believe that President Bush is one to abuse the power of his office, I do not fully trust him or anybody other than Jesus Himself not to abuse power. That’s why there is supposed to be checks and balances in the system. And just because Bush may not abuse his power does not mean anybody in the many levels of the bureaucracy does not abuse their power. The anecdotes are many, and as they say, the plural of anecdote is data.

Boycotting airlines
Here you go. A bunch of good reasons why not to fly. Go potty, go to jail.
It’s the story about a man who nature called when the FAA said “no.” He will likely receive a lengthy federal jail sentence for his indiscretion.
I suggest you follow all of the links, and their derivatives, as it is all interesting reading. Things that make you go “Hmm” you might say.
You can be assured that as long as things are the way they are in our airports, I would rather drive to Hawai’i than fly.
The power our screeners have, and their well documented abuses, are a disgrace to us all. I am reminded of Barney Fife when I think of these Federal perverts.
Don’t fly. You’ll be safer on the ground.
