Whitewash!

This has gotten me furious: Navy Halts Kerry Medal Probe.

Here I go, out on a limb and they saw it off behind me. I promised you guys an investigation that would have done the Spanish Inquisition proud.

And here they go and drop it with nary a glance.

“Our examination found that existing documentation regarding the Silver Star, Bronze Star and Purple Heart medals indicates the awards approval process was properly followed,” Navy inspector general Vice Adm. R.A. Route said in a memo to Navy Secretary Gordon England.

“In particular, the senior officers who awarded the medals were properly delegated authority to do so. In addition, we found that they correctly followed the procedures in place at the time for approving these awards.”

But some questions remain.

  • Why is there a Combat V on Kerry’s Silver Star? It doesn’t get one.
  • How about the Silver Star citation that was “signed” by SecNav John Lehman.
  • What about the documented “severity” of his first wound, which only required a band-aid.

There are more questions in the article.

“The Navy IG obviously is afraid of the political ramifications of a thorough investigation into a presidential candidate’s service record,” Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said, adding that he may appeal the decision.

Those are pretty strong words, but I think fitting in this case.

I screwed up

I knew I shouldn’t have, but my breakfast this morning consisted of chocolate and orange juice, both of which drive my blood sugar crazy. To put them together is really crazy, because it drives me into a frenzy. I can’t concentrate enough to make coherent posts. I’ll just go and crawl into the closet until it’s time to go to work.

Stupid me.

Happy Blogaversary to me!

Yep, today is when I started with a “stay tuned” post. I actually didn’t publish it until the next day, but this is when I set up the Conservative Zone.

Over 800 posts later, how do you, my dear readers, think I am doing?

Thanks for your patronage, with 4,579 visitors to this particular moment.

It has been a hard year for me personally, but things are under control as best they can be controlled. I am as stable as I can be.

Stupid, stupid, stupid

I knew Senator Kerry was a little loopy, but not this bad. Kerry: I’ll ‘Take On the Terrorists’ With Gun Control.

Gun control doesn’t work. Look at “Ban all guns” Washington D.C., the murder capitol of the nation to see it doesn’t work. Even the liberals have guns there.

The junior Senator from Mass. doesn’t seem to realize that terrorists use AUTOMATIC weapons, which have been severely regulated in the United States since 1934. The Assault Weapons Ban that he so severely touted was against SEMI-AUTOMATIC weapons, which no terrorist would be caught dead with.

I can’t even quote from the article. The level of stupidity expressed makes my head swim.

But, that is what we’re up against.

More and more taxes

This disturbs me, Democrat offers income-tax alternative.

This article is about a consumption tax, where every transaction is taxed. Of course, they have gracious exemptions like food and stuff so they don’t “overburden the poor” like me, but that will only last so long. Income taxes started out as 1% on the rich with lots of exemptions as well, and look at what it is today.

I have no doubt that if this consumption tax passes, all the stuff to favor the poor will be lowered or done away with entirely eventually. It will also create a black market, where you can get stuff without the tax as well. Worst case scenario is they institute a consumption tax and keep the income tax as well.

This is one of those ideas that sound good, rather than a good, sound idea. If your Congresscritters are contemplating this bill, do your best to talk them out of it.

Kerry the traitor

I found this article, John Kerry vs. The 14th Amendment and I thought you would be very interested in it.

Kerry’s actions were doubtless instrumental in prolonging the war, and adding to the number of Americans wounded in action, and to those killed in action, whose names are now engraved on the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, D.C. – The Wall.

This is not rumor, nor speculation, nor spin. Kerry did all these things openly, publicly, proudly, intentionally, willfully, and deliberately, in the full light of day and history.

He did these things with an obvious and express intention to impede America’s war effort, and assist its enemy. It is common, public knowledge, and fully, indisputably documented. John Kerry, while an officer of the United States, knowingly, willfully, deliberately, intentionally gave aid and comfort to America’s enemy in a time of war.

While his supporters might try to spin this to be “civil disobedience” or some other bullshit, the facts remain facts.

The article continues on:

The Constitution of the United States, Article 14, Section 3 (also known as Amendment 14, Section 3) states in relevant part:

“No person shall be a senator or representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military . . . who, having previously taken an oath . . . as an officer of the United States . . . to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof . . .”

This pretty much disqualifies Kerry from his post as Senator, not just his run for the presidency, don’t you think? I most certainly think so.

Good riddance to a bad law

I don’t think it got too much coverage today, but President Clintons Assault Weapons Ban law expires today, without hope of renewing it in Congress.

Like most Clinton laws, it appeared to “do something” about the problem, but in reality it did nothing. It was a bad law based on cosmetic features of weapons, which were easily circumvented by the firearms manufacturers.

I hope the “high capacity magazine” law limiting firearm magazines to 10 rounds dies a similar death.

Dems beyond hope

Here’s an interesting piece that shows you there is no learning curve with the Democrats: Kerry Repeats 2002 Dems’ Fiasco.

During the 2000 Presidential elections, and during the 2002 mid-term elections, their entire message was, “Vote for us! We don’t have a plan but don’t vote for those eeeevil Republicans! They want to poison the water, cut down all the trees, etc., etc., etc..”

On Nov. 19, 2002, right after the Republicans had dashed Democratic hopes of retaking the House of Representatives or the Senate in the midterm congressional elections, I wrote in this column that the Democrats “can still win in 2004.” But then I added, “Here’s the bad news: If they don’t change their losers’ strategy, they haven’t a prayer.”

Well, they still haven’t a prayer.

That’s because their entire message is “Vote for us because we’re not them!” While President Bush lays out his vision for the future and what he wants to do, the entire Democrat message is “I wouldn’t have done it THAT way!” No clear message on what he wants to do, other than raising taxes on the rich and raising taxes on everybody.

This “message” is getting out loud and clear, and unfortunately for the Dems, the people are hearing it. Other than the Democrat base, the message is driving away moderates and swing voters, simply because Senator Kerry does not have a message of his own, and what little he does have repels any non-die hard Democrat right into the Bush camp.

I’m sure someone can find some correlation between every time Senator Kerry speaks, his poll numbers go down. Without giving too much strategy to the wrong camp, maybe the good Senator from Massachusetts should just SHUT UP.

Get ready for the food police

We already have the handicapped police, the tobacco police and now the food police. The Great Obesity Scam.

Trial lawyers do not retire or change jobs willingly. There is too much money in being told to go away. They can skim (B) billions off of lawsuits if the target is big enough, as in the case with “Big Tobacco.” Now they are casting their hungry (pun intended) eyes on Big Food. They intend to sue McDonald’s, Burger King, Wendy’s, et. al. into submission. All because they produce a product that people like to eat.

Of course it’s not the people’s fault, we are programmed to like fat, so the more fat they put into the food, the better it tastes. And so on.

It is the peoples (that means you and me) fault, because we have a choice. This choice is being quickly taken away from us step-by-step by trial lawyers and the Government, wanting to “do something” about the problem.

Most of the people in this great country of ours exhibit something called restraint, which means they don’t eat every meal at Mickey’s. They have one or two meals a week there, sometimes opting for the salad instead of the Big Mac. This is known as responsible eating, and these people should not be punished or restricted because of a small minority who have no will power to resist advertising.

Shakespeare was right.

Kerry opens mouth; sticks ass in it

If Kerry is a typical Senator, I think we should contemplate Amending the Constitution to take the power to make treaties away from the Senate. Kerry is just too stupid to understand the facts. Kerry Criticizes Bush’s ‘Massive Failure’ on North Korea.

This article is all about how Senator Kerry is attacking the President for failing to “do something about North Korea.” The President did do something about NK, he cut off the bribe oil and food when NK admitted it had broken the agreement.

Kerry likes to think that he has a persona that will change the position any world leader has, simply because he’s John Kerry. He doesn’t understand that the rest of the world wants him in office because he is weak and spineless. The rest of the world does not want a powerful United States, and he is the perfect candidate to make sure that happens. Kerry has no idea what he is going to do when the other world leaders (like NK) say “no” to him.

President Bush is engaged with NK through six-way talks for a reason. It’s their problem not his. If Kim Jong Il descends far enough into madness to actually launch a nuclear weapon at the West Coast, the Chinese and SK had best to be ready to invade at a moments notice to prevent a nuclear holocaust. The only way to prevent a return “limited” nuclear strike would be a Chinese invasion, followed by a public execution of Kim Jung Il, ala Uday and Qusay: Feed the bastard feet first into a wood chipper.

NK is primarily China’s problem and the quicker they realize it the sooner good things will happen. But as long as they keep feeding the monster, he’s going to stay there and not go away. And that missile heading towards the West Coast? They might just launch one West at Beijing as well.

NEVER FORGET

I can’t begin to tell you the depth of my rage against the perpetrators and those who supported, condoned and celebrate this day. Just as deep is my wound remembering the horrors of that day.

Like my parents before me, they remember where they were and what they were doing when they heard about Pearl Harbor. But a radio news report does not have the same impact as live video of a plane crashing into a building. To actually see the horror of the impact, to watch each tower fall, to know there were thousands of trapped people in those buildings. Then to have those horrible moments shown over and over again, to brand those moments indelibly into our collective consciences.

And yet, we have become stronger than before. We have flexed our muscles and two tyrannical regimes have fallen. We are by and large more aware of how delicate our freedoms are, and how easily evil men can kill us wholesale.

We are now engaged in a great fight, one that must be fought. There are two places where this battle can be fought. On the streets of Iraq, or on the streets of America. One man who wants the presidency for the next four years wants to fight it overseas, the other wants to wait until the terrorists attack again.

We have a nation to protect and a war to fight. We have places to be and terrorists to kill. The time to act is now….LET’S ROLL.
